Legal Center
HPN™ — Home Producer Network™
This page is the central index for HPN’s current site disclosures and documents.
Publication status
This is an operational disclosure draft based on the current codebase. No effective date, governing-law clause, refund promise, age rule, or other business/legal fact is stated here unless it is verified by the application. Business owners and counsel must approve the remaining business and legal questions before this page is treated as a final legal document.
Terms of Service
The site currently supports public pages, account creation and authentication, preview access, member-portal access, and member-only community features. The codebase does not contain an approved general Terms of Service document or a terms-acceptance flow.
Membership & billing
Products and prices are configured in HPN’s product catalog. The application supports Stripe Checkout for one-time payment or subscription modes, Stripe webhooks for membership status updates, and a Stripe customer portal for accounts with a stored billing profile. The application does not store payment card numbers.
Product records may contain access, billing interval, trial, offer, inventory, and cancellation-state fields. The applicable product page and Stripe Checkout session are the source of the transaction details shown to a customer.
Founder program
The application supports product-specific Founder fields, Founder claims, Founder status, Founder titles, and calling-card grants. These are data-driven entitlements; a specific Founder offer must be read from its live product configuration and checkout terms.
Community & content
Authenticated members can use community features that store posts, comments, likes/dislikes, feedback threads, selected profile information, artist submissions, wins submissions, and supported media. Administrative moderation and approval states exist for several submission types.
The detailed rules for anything a user uploads or submits are in User-uploaded media and content below.
User-uploaded media & content
This section applies to every file, image, audio recording, video, profile image, post attachment, feedback attachment, Showcase item, competition or win submission, and other material you upload, submit, link to, or make available through HPN (collectively, “User Content”).
Upload only material you are authorized to share. By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that you own it or have obtained all rights, licenses, permissions, releases, and consents needed for HPN to host, store, process, display, stream, transmit, moderate, and make it available as intended by the feature. This includes rights from co-writers, producers, labels, publishers, featured performers, collaborators, photographers, visual artists, licensors, and any person identifiable in the material. You are responsible for clearing samples, beats, interpolations, artwork, performances, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, and any applicable confidentiality or contractual restrictions.
Do not upload unreleased or confidential music, stems, masters, private recordings, trade secrets, passwords, personal information, material subject to an NDA, or any work whose public disclosure could create risk for you or another person. Public Showcase and other community features are designed to make User Content available to other users and may allow it to be streamed, viewed, copied, recorded, screen-captured, re-shared, or leaked by third parties. HPN cannot guarantee that technical controls will prevent unauthorized copying or access.
You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant HPN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, encode, adapt for technical delivery, display, perform, stream, transmit, moderate, back up, and otherwise use the User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the HPN service and the feature through which you submitted it. This license ends when the User Content is deleted from HPN systems, except for copies retained in backups, records, legal holds, or where retention is reasonably necessary to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, comply with law, or protect HPN and its users.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and for any consequences of uploading or sharing it, including unauthorized disclosure, theft, piracy, leakage, infringement claims, loss of exclusivity, loss of commercial value, or claims by collaborators or rights holders. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HPN is not responsible or liable for unauthorized access to, copying, recording, downloading, redistribution, leakage, or misuse of User Content by users, visitors, vendors, attackers, or other third parties, or for losses arising from your failure to obtain the required rights and permissions. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for HPN’s own fraud, willful misconduct, or other non-waivable legal obligations.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HPN, its owners, operators, personnel, contractors, and service providers from claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, penalties, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from or related to your User Content, your breach of these representations, your failure to obtain permissions, or your use of another person’s protected material, privacy, publicity, or confidential information.
HPN may review, restrict, remove, disable access to, preserve, or disclose User Content when HPN believes it violates law or policy, creates risk, receives a complaint, receives a copyright notice, or needs to protect the service, users, or third parties. HPN may suspend or terminate accounts for repeated or serious infringement or abuse. HPN does not promise to monitor every upload or to identify every rights issue before content is displayed.
For a copyright complaint, contact contact@homeproducernetwork.com with your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; the URL or other information locating the allegedly infringing material; your contact information; a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the rights holder and that the notice is accurate. HPN may remove or disable access while a complaint is reviewed and may request additional information or a counter-notice where applicable.
Competition agreement
The current competition implementation is Stage 1: a public information and preview surface backed by competition settings, dates, rules, submission-requirement, reward, voting-description, and judge-assignment fields. The codebase does not currently contain the participant-entry, submission, team, voting, winner, prize, or affirmative legal-acceptance flow needed for a complete competition agreement.
Accordingly, the competition page is informational only until those flows and the applicable rules are implemented and approved. This section does not grant HPN a content license, promise a reward, establish judging rules, or create a participant liability waiver.
Teams & collectives
The competition schema includes a team competition type and team-formation date fields, but no participant team/collective workflow is implemented in the reviewed codebase.
Privacy & cookies
This section records current technical behavior; it is not a substitute for a jurisdiction-specific privacy notice.
- Accounts: the application stores an email address and may store an account identifier, Google account identifier, email-verification timestamp, login timestamps, phone number/country, membership and entitlement records, and community-submission data.
- Authentication: email magic links, Google OAuth, and optional Discord OAuth are present in the codebase. Discord connection data is used for community access and role synchronization.
- Billing: Stripe handles hosted checkout and billing-portal interactions. HPN stores Stripe identifiers and transaction/membership metadata needed to reconcile access.
- Email: SMTP/PHPMailer and Resend are used by different mail paths. The unsubscribe endpoint stores an opted-out email address for automated-email suppression; account/security and portal-notification behavior is separately implemented.
- Analytics and attribution: when configured, GA4 is loaded. For a logged-in member, the shared header sends a SHA-256 hash of the lowercase session email as GA4 user-provided data. This should not be described as anonymous data. UTM attribution stores campaign data and a random browser identifier; the database schema also has an IP-hash field.
- Browser storage: the site uses secure session cookies, a 180-day
_hpn_uidattribution cookie when needed, session/local storage for attribution and the cookie-notice state, and other short-lived operational cookies used by site scripts.
Copyright & trademarks
The site uses the names HPN and Home Producer Network and displays trademark symbols in site copy. The application also serves HPN branding, graphics, and community materials. Ownership, registration status, notice-and-takedown contact, permissions, and any license to member-submitted material require confirmation before more specific legal language is published.
Verification Disclaimer
HPN verification badges and tiers are informational platform designations based on criteria, information, credentials, metrics, credits, documentation, communications, or other evidence reviewed by Home Producer Network at the time of verification.
Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, a particular tier, continued verification, or review within a particular timeframe. HPN may contact users through voluntarily provided contact information or third-party social accounts for purposes related to reviewing identity, credentials, credits, or eligibility.
Verification is not an endorsement, recommendation, guarantee, sponsorship, employment, agency, partnership, ownership, representation agreement, or certification of character, services, content, financial condition, professional ability, or future performance. Criteria and review methods may change as HPN evolves.
HPN may grant, deny, modify, downgrade, suspend, or remove verification at its discretion when information appears inaccurate, outdated, misleading, manipulated, fraudulent, unverifiable, or inconsistent with HPN policies. Third-party metrics may change or become unavailable. Users may not falsely claim, imitate, reproduce, manipulate, or misrepresent HPN verification.
Professional Organization Eligibility
Professional Organization status is intended for legitimate businesses and professionally operating organizations within the music industry, including record labels, management companies, publishers, studios, media organizations, and professional collectives.
By creating or designating a page as a Professional Organization, you represent that the organization is genuine, actively operates in the capacity stated on its profile, and that you are authorized to represent or manage the organization on HPN.
HPN may request reasonable documentation or other evidence of the organization's existence, operations, ownership, or the account holder's authority to represent it. Organizations that cannot provide satisfactory verification, misrepresent their professional status, or use Professional Organization features for a casual, fictitious, misleading, or otherwise ineligible collective may have their Professional Organization status revoked or their organization page removed.
Payment for Professional Organization features does not guarantee approval or continued eligibility and does not constitute verification, endorsement, certification, or recognition of an organization by HPN or any third party.
If an organization does not qualify for Professional Organization status, users may instead use HPN's Community features where applicable.
