FAQ
Common Questions
Everything you need to know about signing in, Community Preview, the member portal, and how HPN access works.
Signing In & The Member Portal
How do I sign in or create an account?
Use Join HPN and enter your email. If an account already exists, HPN signs you in. If you’re new, HPN creates a free Community Preview account so you can look around before becoming a member.
How does the member portal work?
The member portal is HPN’s private section of the website. Once you sign in, you’ll have access based on your account status. Preview accounts can browse a limited version of the network. Product members unlock the full member tools included with the product they hold.
How does email sign-in work?
On the Join HPN page you can sign in with Google or request a magic link. Google is fastest for Gmail users. Magic links work with any email address. Gmail dot variants resolve to the same HPN account, so dotted and non-dotted Gmail addresses do not create separate accounts.
What is Community Preview?
Community Preview is a real HPN account with limited access. It is not temporary. You can return later with the same email, browse preview-limited posts and feedback, view member profiles with locked content, and draft an alumni profile. Posting, full media access, approvals, and direct member interactions require active member access.
Does the email I enter in Stripe become my HPN account email?
No. Your HPN account is tied to the email you use on Join HPN. Stripe may collect a billing email for receipts, invoices, and payment records, but that billing email is not used as the basis for creating your HPN account.
What if I can’t log in or I’m getting an access error?
First make sure you’re using the same email you used to create your HPN account. If you have paid access, make sure your membership is active on a product that includes member portal access. For billing, use Manage Billing in the member portal when available. For account help, open a support ticket in Discord.
Is my information shared or sold?
No. Your email is never sold or shared with third parties. It is used to authenticate your account, confirm your membership status, support moderation and account recovery, and send you HPN updates.
Alumni Profiles & Member Directory
What is an alumni profile?
An alumni profile is your public listing on the HPN Alumni page. It shows your artist name, role, bio, city, social links, and a showcase of your work. Any active member can submit one — once approved, you’re listed in the directory and other members can find and connect with you.
How do I create an alumni profile?
Log into the member portal and go to the Profile Settings tab. Preview accounts can fill out a draft version first, but submitting for approval opens after member access is active. Once submitted your profile goes into a review queue. You’ll be notified when it’s approved or denied.
How long does alumni profile approval take?
Reviews typically complete within 12 hours. You’ll receive a notification in the portal once a decision is made. No action needed on your end while you wait.
How do I DM another member directly?
To send a DM to another member you need two things: an approved alumni profile and your Discord account linked in Profile Settings. Once both are done, a DM button will appear on the cards of members who also have Discord linked. Click it and it opens a direct message with them in Discord.
To get a DM button on your own card so others can reach you, complete the same two steps.
Access & Membership
How do I get access to the community?
Start at Join HPN. You’ll either sign into your existing account or create a Community Preview account. From there, use the Upgrade tab to choose an available membership. Once your membership goes active you’ll get access to the member portal and any Discord roles included in your plan.
Where did the products page go?
Membership products now live in the Upgrade tab inside the portal. That keeps signup, preview, checkout, and member access tied to one HPN account. If no useful upgrade is available for your current account, the Upgrade tab may be hidden.
What happens if my paid subscription is canceled?
If your paid access ends, HPN moves your account back to Community Preview instead of deleting it. Your saved posts, feedback, and alumni profile information stay attached to your account so they are there if you rejoin later.
Where do I go for support?
Member support is handled through Discord tickets, not live chat on the website. If you have a partnership or media inquiry, use the contact page.
My membership is active but I still can’t access the portal. What do I do?
A few things to check:
Make sure the product you purchased includes member portal access. Not all HPN products include the same access. Check your dashboard status and network access details inside the member portal.
If the product does include portal access and you still can’t get in, request a fresh magic link or continue with Google. Make sure you are using the email attached to your HPN account. Still stuck, open a Discord support ticket.
